Saudi news websites shared news saying a new Royal decree will give Saudi citizenship to foreigner born in Saudi Arabia before the age 2.

Websites added that the families of new born babes will be given a year to choose between taking Saudi citizenship or keeping their original nationality.

These websites quoted the news from Saudi official news agency “WAS” and published a royal decree from King Salman Bin Abdulaziz with the number (246/A).

Verify-Sy searched the official Saudi news agency “WAS” website and turns out the royal decree (246/A) is not connected to giving Saudi citizenship but about discharging the head of royal bureau and appointing new one.

On the other side Verify-Sy searched in Saudi official newspapers and websites and found nothing new on giving Saudi citizenship to foreigners.

Saudi citizenship law issued by Saudi intern ministry say the Saudi citizenship given to the foreigner who reach maturity and have been living for no less than 10 years and the Saudi law define maturity age according to what Sharia say.
