What is the truth behind the death of the Damascus café owner allegedly assaulted by the new Syrian administration?

A claim recently circulated on social media, alleging that Edward Fouad Al-Dobie, a Christian civilian, died of a heart attack after being beaten and threatened by security forces of the new Syrian administration. However, this claim is misleading. Al-Dobie suffered a heart attack while authorities were present in response to a complaint against him, but he was not assaulted or threatened. In fact, the authorities assisted him and took him to Al-Mujtahed Hospital, where he later passed away. The claims also suggested that the incident was linked to Al-Dobie’s ownership of a café, with the authorities allegedly acting on a complaint that the café's opening was prohibited.
