UNHCR didn’t announce DAFI scholarship this year

Syrian and Turkish social media pages and websites shared news saying UNHCR announced DAFI scholarship for Syrian students in Turkey.

The websites said the scholarship allow Syrian students in Turkey to complete their high education as it provide university seat and pay for attending classes and workshops.

Verify-Sy would like to remind audience that UNHCR didn’t announce the scholarship but other social media pages and websites published the last year announcement.

UNHCR said on its official page “fake info circulating social media about filing for scholarships for high education” 

UNHCR added “We are not receiving requests for DAFI scholarships this year and requests for 2018-2019 year will be announced on the first quarter of 2018”
