Lebanese Newspaper website al-Dyiar shared yesterday a news titled “Jaysh al-Islam announce it is ready to retreat to Idlib province” saying the biggest opposition group in Eastern Ghouta is ready to retreat to northern Syria.
The newspaper quoted an alleged statement by Zahran Alloush who said is the leader of Jaysh al0Islam saying he is ready to retreat to Idlib with 10k fighters on condition to transfer the weapons with them.
But sources from Jaysh al-Islam denied to Verify-Sy what al-Dyiar published on its website and said no official statement from the group announcing retreating from al-Ghouta.
Worth to mention is that Zahran Alloush is the ex-general commander of Jaysh al-Islam and he was killed in an airstrike on Ghouta in late 2015 and Jaysh al-Islam chose Abu Homam al-Boyadani as his successor.
