Personal accounts and news pages on social media sites have recently shared a video recording of Russian-speaking armed elements torturing a man in civilian clothes.

The video publishers said that the man who was brutally tortured by al-Ghouta men, referring to the newly filmed recording, that after the Russian troops entered the cities and towns of eastern al-Gauta which the armed Syrian opposition factions withdrew to northern Syria under a Russian agreement.

Verify-Sy platform would like to draw the attention of the followers that the recording referred to is not new and was not filmed in al-Ghouta near the Syrian capital Damascus.

The results of the research conducted by Verify-Sy platform on the recording showed that it has been posted on several sites and blogs since July 2017, and shows elements of the Russian militia, "Wagner", during their torturing the man who was accused of belonging to ISIS in the Syrian Badia.

Verify-Sy could not verify the location and date of the recording, but its presence on the Internet almost a year ago denies it to be from the Eastern Ghouta.

It should be noted that the "Wagner" militia is a Russian defense company run by a retired Russian officer, who is close to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and there are dozens of elements of this militia in the Syrian Badia on the pretext of protecting oil and gas wells.
