Activists on social media circulated today, a picture they said it was taken in a street of the Syrian capital, "Damascus," showing the head of the Executive Council of the "Autonomous Administration" of the city of Afrin, "Heavy Mustafa" as part of a banner advertising the elections of the People's Assembly.
Verify-Sy searched for the source of the photo to verify its authenticity and the fact that "Mustafa" was running for the parliamentary elections recently announced by the Assad regime, and found a statement by the head of the Executive Council of the "Autonomous Administration" of the city of Afrin, in which she denies her candidacy for the elections.
"Mustafa" accused the Assad regime of distorting the facts and following a policy of media disinformation to extend his life in power. This came during a statement made by "Heavy Mustafa" today in front of many media outlets in "Afrin".
